Bypassing Emergency SOS Calls on Track

Bypassing Emergency SOS Calls on Track

The GR Corolla is infamous for having a sensitive emergency call system that kicks in on track or during AutoX. This is a guide to bypass the system.

The SOS system is powered by the Telematics Module which lives behind the center entertainment console in your dashboard.

The DCM is powered by a fuse in the driver side footwell. By pulling the fuse and depowering the DCM module you will disable SOS calling.

Note: This also disables your microphone for hands free calling / voice command. But it is easy to remove the fuse for track driving and reinstall afterwards.

Steps

  1. Locate interior fuse box, remove cover
  2. Pull 10 amp fuse as identified below

           3. Check SOS button, the illuminated red telephone button will eventually stop illuminating.

      • The telematics module has an integrated battery/capacitor in case of loss of vehicle power in a crash. It may take 1-5 minutes for this to drain after pulling the DCM fuse.
