Bypassing Emergency SOS Calls on Track
Share
The GR Corolla is infamous for having a sensitive emergency call system that kicks in on track or during AutoX. This is a guide to bypass the system.
The SOS system is powered by the Telematics Module which lives behind the center entertainment console in your dashboard.
The DCM is powered by a fuse in the driver side footwell. By pulling the fuse and depowering the DCM module you will disable SOS calling.
Note: This also disables your microphone for hands free calling / voice command. But it is easy to remove the fuse for track driving and reinstall afterwards.
Steps
- Locate interior fuse box, remove cover
- Pull 10 amp fuse as identified below
3. Check SOS button, the illuminated red telephone button will eventually stop illuminating.
- The telematics module has an integrated battery/capacitor in case of loss of vehicle power in a crash. It may take 1-5 minutes for this to drain after pulling the DCM fuse.
